A fire Monday afternoon destroyed a home in Waipio Valley and burned about a 15-foot perimeter of trees and foliage around the house in all directions.
According to a Hawaii Fire Department statement, 14 units responded to the 2:04 p.m. alarm. of the fire at the Waipio Valley Road residence.
The first unit arrived 19 minutes later to find the 20-foot-by-30-foot structure 80% inundated in flames.
The fire was declared under control at 3:15 p.m. and extinguished at 5:20 p.m.
All residents are accounted for and no injuries were reported. None were on scene at the time, according to the fire department.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation and no damage estimate was provided.
